Here is a small doo-ditty I had typed into my phone when I was visiting the old folks home the other day.
The nurses told me about this old guy in a room down the hall and how he was a crotchety old bastard fart who was waiting to die...
So I stuck my head in the doorway to take a look at the specimen...and this popped into my head while thinking that one day I may be sitting on the same bed...(except I would be banging a nice young nurse instead of coming from the shithead frame of mind).

And there you now sit…with your head in your hands
Living the life resultant…from all of your plans
Hopeless and insignificant…now feeling the fool
Living your best moment…choking on blood and drool

Thinking to the past…smiles and laughs you had
Lovers blurred memories…elated and sad
Wondering which fractal or detour could have been
But still end up now at lifes’ grandeur’s end

Good-bye ol' man. Trust me. It gets better than this.

QSC - It's really hard for me to imagine myself on the deathbed. Who did I abandon, and who abandoned me!? Fuck, can you imagine layin' on a bed for decades alone, and all you ever see is some nurse that could give a fuck whether you lived or died within the next minute! That is not how I hope to die!

Just woke up from a terrifying nightmare I can only describe as apocalyptic, a dream so freakish I actually felt the need to type it out to release its monstrous grip from my mind. Seemed very Lovecraftian to me.

In my nightmare I remember sitting in my childhood house, as I had some weird premonition of something terrible about to happen.... and it did.

I can recall hearing a very loud car speeding fast past my house minutes later, and realize it's a police car. I look out the window and see this car slam on its brakes, and two men get out of the back seats with Samurai swords.

There is a standoff with these two men and a cop shoots one of them through the heart, I can hear the "pops". One man collapses dead on the street, and the other Samurai toting man shreds the cop in half with his sword, gets in the driver seat and drives off.

In my nightmare, I knew that I was dealing with a total blood thirsty psychopath who was just beginning his rampage. As a freaked out child, I alert every one in the house, call 9-11, and nobody believes me. Just then I hear a banging on the front door... A psycho is trying to slice my door in half, just like the deceased officer whose blood is coagulating on my street.

Somehow he knew I witnessed the whole thing, and I was about to die, a real big one. Just then a cop pulls up and Samurai guy flees on foot. I get into the police car and I'm taken to the station, safe at last.

I notice at the station other horrified citizens cramped up there, rumors are flying, some people are saying that dozens of people are running around with swords, slicing people up for no apparent reason. This made perfect sense, as I had seen pools of blood all over the roads, en route to the police station.

But things get worse, apocalyptic worse...

Nightfall comes, there are too many people huddled in this small police station, so some of us go and sit out on the hill overlooking the darkness, huddled together wondering when the psychos are coming.

Just then someone points to the sky and says: "Look at those stars, they are shooting upwards!", and they were. The sky became like a dark blue mist, and the stars were making some sort of geometric alignment for some reason I can only be terrified to ponder.

More citizens are coming into the station, ushered by cops, some with blood all over them, the cops top priority is defending the station, keeping the people alive and safe, the killers are still out there, and no one is brave enough or crazy enough to take them down.

And meanwhile the night sky seems to be having a mind of its own, I even hear some man say something about HAARP in the nightmare, but something inside me was saying that this is way more evil than HAARP. No man or men could be involved in such cosmic evil.

The stars stop at their satanic configuration, and silence ensues... nobody gets out of here alive.

I had a similar dream the night before, but different scenario. I have some of the most vivid dreams in March, always have, and never know why. For those forum members inclined to read dreams, I'd appreciate any feedback.

During the Last week of April when all is in bloom, my dreams and nightmares are waay more memorable than any other Season. And I'm waay too afraid to even "look into it."

Maybe that's a sign that I need to look deeper, underneath the roots.

So im summarising from whats been posted on lucid dreaming which would be the first stage of crossing conscious dimensions so to speak , is that there are many many recorded techniques for achieving and excelling this state of being .

Putting aside the occassional lucid dream, if one wanted to increase the occassions ..........
1st step is to have a dream (some say we always dream but dont always remember)
2nd step is to educate the self to remember the dreams
3rd step is to achieve awareness in the dream
4th step and very important is to achieve certainty of when in a dream or when awake in physical reality

It seems that what is first required is to create a link between ones conscious mind and dreamstate mind
The power of mantra or even self hypnosis cannot be understated in the purposefull mindset
It is down to beleif systems what one beleives is going on in a communication between the conscious mind and the sub-conscious or even unconscious mind , but nevertheless, there is a connection which can be altered by conscious mantra
Then once the mindset to expect and observe the dreams is started, one must on awakening immediately record the contents of the dream, by writing it down, whatever can be remembered, this is important for 2 reasons, the most important first reason is for the aforementioned further cementing of the relationship between the conscious state and the dreamstate, as often if you leave it a few minutes , even seconds, one can forget the contents of the dream , secondly, the contents of the dream will be interesting especially to check if they co-incide with ones conscious direction and requesting of them or they present some other equation
And if things develop with the purpose and nous directing them, soon it is possible to develop a dream awareness or so they say

Now there are also other little tricks used by natives over the years to intensify the dreamconsciousness like ingesting herbs and i list one here that has got some strong evidence for influences but anyone trying this would have to seriously consider all the possibles and maybes

Summary
Calea zacatechichi is a plant used by the Chontal Indians of Mexico to obtain divinatory messages during dreaming. At human doses, organic extracts of the plant produce the EEG and behavioral signs of somnolence and induce light sleep in cats. Large doses elicit salivation, ataxia. retching and occasional vomiting. The effects of the plant upon cingulum discharge frequency were significantly different from hallucinogenic- dissociative drugs (ketamine. quipazine, phencyclidine and SKF-10017). In human healthy volunteers, low doses of the extracts administered in a double-blind design against placebo increased reaction time end time-lapse estimation. A controlled nap sleep study in the same volunteers showed that Calea extracts increased the superficial stages of sleep and the number of spontaneous awakenings. The subjective reports of dreams were significantly higher than both placebo and diazepam, indicating an increase in hypnagogic imagery occurring during superficial sleep stages.
Introduction
Dreams are important in mesoamerican cultures. They are believed to occur in a realm of suprasensory reality and, therefore, are capable of conveying messages (Lopez-Auatin. 1980). The use of plant preparations in order to produce or to enhance dreams of a divinatory nature constitutes an ethnopharmacological category that can be called "oneiromancy" and which justifies rigorous neuropharmacological research.

There are several plants used in Indian communities of Mexico to obtain divinatory messages from dreams. Several puffball mushrooms (Lycoperdon spp.), wrongly reported as hallucinogens (Ott et al., 1975), are eaten fresh by Mixtec Indians before going to bed in order to dream (Diaz, 1975. 1979). Nahuatl Indians from the Sierra de Puebla use an as yet unidentified species of Salvia, known by the name of Xiwit, for the same purpose (Tim Knab, pers. commun.). The plant known as Bakana to the Tarahumara Indians, which has been reported to be an analgesic, antipsychotic and divinatory agent(Bye. 1979), was later found to be employed for dreaming during night sleep (William Merrill, pers. commun.). Finally, Calea zacatechichi Schl. (Compositae) is used in the same context by the Chontal Indians of Oaxaca.

C. zacatechichi is a plant of extensive popular medicinal use in Mexico (Diaz. 1976). An infusion of the plant (roots. leaves and stem) is employed against gastrointestinal disorders, as an appetizer. cholagogue, cathartic. antidysentry remedy, and has also been reported to be an effective febrifuge. With other aromatic Compositae, dry C. zacatechichi is used as insecticide (Diet, 1975). There is also some information concerning psychotropic properties of this plant that require further clarification (Schultes and Hofmann, 1973).

The pioneer study on the appetizer properties of zacatechichi, conducted at the Institute Medico Nacional of Mexico, mentioned some psychoactive effects (Sandoval, 1882). MacDougall (1968) reported that a Chontal informant knew that the leaves of the plant were to be either smoked or drunk as an infusion to obtain divinatory messages. Subsequent interviews with MacDougall's informant and active participation in ceremonial ingestion revealed that the plant is used for divination during dreaming (Diaz, 1975). Whenever it is desired to know the cause of an illness or the location of a distant or lost person, dry leaves of the plant are smoked, drunk and put under the pillow before going to sleep. Reportedly, the answer to the question comes in a dream. A collection of interviews and written reports concerning the psychotropic effects of these; preparations on 12 volunteers has been published (Diaz. 1975, 1979). Free, reports and direct questioning disclosed a discrete enhancement of all sensorial perceptions, an increase in imagery, mild thought discontinuity, rapid flux of ideas. and difficulties in retrieval. These effects were followed by somnolence and a short sleep during which lively dreams were reported by the majority of the volunteers. These preliminary observations suggested that the psychotropic effects of the plant were similar to those interesting from ethnobotanical. psychological and neuropharmacological of the "cognodysleptic" drugs, whose prototype is marihuana (Cannabis saliva)(Diaz, 1979). The possible effects upon dreaming are the most perspectives .

Last night I entered a rare state of deep dreaming. Usually I never get that relaxed in my sleep. Anyway, had another dream about Catholic church (as I sometimes still do).

In the dream, I was of the age I am now, but was back in the old church, with familiar relatives, town folk, and the priest, who is still around preaching to this day.

I could totally recall his white robe in the dream, and the way he would walk up to the altar. I also had visions of myself wearing a white robe, and doing the role of the 'altar boy', which I really was, when I was a kid.

This may have actually been a total recall of an older experience I've had, buried somewhere in the back of my mind. My mother, and two aunts always took turns in handing out the sacraments. I grew up in a really crazy, devoted Catholic family. My mother even taught catechism, I loathed it.

In the dream, I could tell that it was as if there existed something inside of me that stirred a fear in the air to the mass. In that dream, I walked into that church, and punched that priest in the chin, took his bible, and gave a more accurate reading of the bible, than the authority, laying there knocked out cold on his pulpit of irrelevance.

It was one of those HELL YEAH dreams. The look on the faces of the congregation as I exposed their religion, right there in their place of worship was priceless. I bet the devil in my dream would have been jealous of my cruelty. For at least I could carry out my diabolical schemes in full flesh and conscience.

The weird irony is, my grandmother always told me how she wanted me to grow up to be a priest, and she literally just died 3 weeks ago. She and many relatives of mine, along with some of the town folk always resented me for leaving the church at age 16.

Speaking of dreams, I had a very strange and surreal dream like thing happen to me with two people???? at the grocery store yesterday. I never had that happen in wake time as far as I can remember. And they may not have been people, and also as far as I know I've never met beings in awake time either.
It sure had me thinking about the different states of mind.

As for dreams they are usually about preparing myself, and of course nutty, because I am. Need meds now!

I had an interesting dream not so long ago. I actually don't recall specifics as to what occurred previously in my dream. It was upon waking or in the process of waking that was so strange. I remember seeing a little man(?) beside my bed and he(?) had a DJ like set up. You know the kind with some headphones and what looked like a turntable in front. I heard my voice saying to myself...I wonder if he was putting something into my head or was he taking something out. The impression was like some sort of downloading or uploading...thing(?). I wasn't afraid just confused and I still wonder about this odd dream.

I had one of the best dreams I think I've ever had. I don't remember all of it, but it was just pure awesome.

I was standing at the base of this huge mountain looking into a pond surrounded by lush greenery and wild flowers. The water was crystal clear and as smooth as polished glass. The colors in that place where out of this world! So vibrant and almost neon. I could see all the way to the bottom and the pond seemed quite deep. Floating out in the pond was this grass paddy and next to it was an orange and yellow bird lying on its back atop of the water. I felt a moment of sadness even in that beautiful place because I thought the bird was dead, but as soon as I thought that, I could see it was not and I somehow went over to it without getting wet and placed it on the floating grass. The bird seemed to thank me and almost smile.
I then had this irresistable urge to begin climbing up the side of this mountain. It was sheer and treacherous and I was literally digging in with my fingers and bare feet crawling up the side. I got up quite high and I started to feel afraid. I said to myself what have I gotten into and how the heck am I going to get out of this. What if I fall, I would surely die if I did. Right then, as I was feeling the fear I looked up and saw just above me a very narrow path cut into the side of this mountain.
On this path were three people. Two men and one woman who were looking at me clinging to the side. I don't remember their faces but I felt an instant kinship with them. It was like they were family. They waved at me and I could hear the woman say "This path has always been here for you". It was said in a humorous way and I felt kind of silly that I hadn't just tried that way first; instead of trying to go up the side like some fool. I paused and looked at the path above me and how it stretched a long ways to the left. I thought to myself maybe I could shimmy back down and go around to get on that path. I then looked to my right and thought maybe I could go back down this way then go around to get back up an easier way.
I decided since I was almost there anyways I might as well just continue to dig in and pull myself up. I felt like I was supposed to join those people and they had been waiting for me because we were going somewhere up the mountain. So I finally pull myself up onto this path that was only about a foot wide. By that time the others had moved on ahead and I had a moment of vertigo as I looked at how high I was. I could hear the womans voice again and she was saying something about the himalayans and it being seven thousand meters. She also said something odd about how they bring boats this way all the time. I thought how could they possibly bring boats on a foot wide path. I also wondered about how I had no problem breathing up there nor was i even tired from my struggles up the side.
So moving on and trying to catch up I came to this wooden outpost. I went inside and a man greeted me with a warm smile and welcome saying that they'd been expecting me and asked if I was ready to check in.
I said sure and then a young boy directed me to a small cabin behind the outpost. It was very simple with a cot, a wood stove and small window overlooking the spectacular vista. I loved it!
Then I had a very sad realization that I couldn't stay there. The young boy was still there and explained to me how he had just got his job working there and that perhaps there was a job for me, but he needed to ask.
I told him thank you but I should go now and when I come back I would happily work there so I could stay.
So I wondered outside and took in the last moments I had there on this mountain. As I was walking around I stopped to pick up some multicolored stones that looked like glass pebbles and put them in my pocket. I then saw this huge earthworm sunning itself on a flat stone. I remembered how I read that the earthworms were disappearing from many places and I was happy to see one in such a good condition. I thought about how I use to pick them up off the concrete when they would come out after a heavy rain. I was concerned for this earthworm and I didn't want him to get all dried out and stuck. The worm then spoke to me...not in words but in my mind he said "Don't worry, I'm just fine here and everything is going to be alright"

Then I woke up feeling really good. I felt like I had just been somewhere very special.


I'm editing to add that I had this dream the day after my birthday. It was the first time in my whole life I didn't celebrate this. I spent the first half of the day thinking and the second half crying. I started crying about a bunch of little things, old memories and alot of it was full of self pity and regrets. The crying changed at some point and something deep within me began to rise to the surface. A wail that didn't have any one specific memory attatched to it. It felt like it rose up from my guts and it was actually physically painful. I squirmed as wave after wave of this deep emotion gushed from my mouth and eyes. I think that was something I'd really needed to do for myself. I needed to allow this to come out of me. I think it somehow brought with its passing a sense of clarity.

So u were quite lucid in the dream Blackbird ? , it seems to take concentrated effort utilising techniques to establish a consistent and solidified relationship between awake consciousness and dream consciousness as opposed to the occassional lucidity that may visit someone at random , or what appears to be random

There were moments of lucidity. I've had many dreams where there was a realization that it was a dream and have consciously had an ability to will a return to a particular dream theme or alter some of the landscapes and events. In many of my dreams I hear my own voice speaking to an image of my physical self. Like I am observing myself in the dream world from somewhere above.

I've read about some of the various techniques for lucid dreaming, but I've never practiced those techniques. Actually, I don't really practice much of anything...not consistently anyways. Nor do I really practice recommendations from books or other people. There have been a few things I've done here and there, but again not with much regularity. I did however try what Flames described when he wrote about wishing Love, Health and Protection for everyone one could think of. I've done this a few times now before falling asleep and it is way better than counting sheep. I fell asleep doing this and going through everyone I could think of like people I've met or read about, all the animals I could think of, all the plants I could think of, the earth and then expanding on to the universe. It was difficult to focus at times and my mind wondered, but then I would return. I tried to not just say it, but to really feel it. I thought of my experiences with joy and imagined that radiating outwards to encompass all these things I was thinking of. My last attempt I remember drifting off wishing for those things for ants, even the fire ants that leave awful raised pustules after unfortunate barefoot encounters.

It was difficult to focus at times and my mind wondered,

This is a key experience and you were able to stay aware to detect another form of intelligence. Something seemingly more powerful, maybe hypnotic, maybe telepathic in nature. Yes - downloading...I have heard this before...At least now you know that you are being guided/manipulated for better or worse, through some of your dreamtime sequences by beings that are not YOU.

If the comment was made to be directed at me then yes, I would partially agree with what you've said there. Some people have more "horrors" than others. I say partially agree because trying and doing are different, and I would say that I am trying to explore my core.

This reminded me that as a child I was never really afraid of the dark. I used to get up in the middle of the night and wander around the house while everyone was asleep, and sometimes even take barefoot walks outside in the country. I knew there were scorpions and snakes all around, but they never frightened me. Now as an adult I am afraid of the dark. Seems silly to me that I would be afraid of imagined things hiding in the dark corners of a room. I always feel like something is watching me...always waiting there.

Sometimes I think I should acknowledge this imagined thing. Instead of denying its existence when my senses tell me indeed there is something there. I haven't had the courage to do so just yet. I think I may even be afraid of being afraid

Same thing with my nightmares. I once read about this south american tribe that paid close attention to their dreams. So much so that instead of saying "good morning" the greeting was "How did you dream". They would tell the children that if they encountered a monster or something frightening in their dreams to not run from it, but to face it and ask for a gift. The difficultly for me is to remember this while asleep and in the grips of fearful nightmare. Perhaps if I could do this than I wouldn't feel like I needed to run away anymore. Also, I think trying to do battle with the fear is almost the same as running away from it, because even when I fight with whatever "monster" it always seem to eventually return in some form or another.

No, I don't know this.

If you get really strong, I mean psychically...you can hunt them down, likewise. Some are not bad at all...just a bit scary at first,
and some always will be bad, no matter if you are able to detect them or not..

If they are bad, tell them to fuck off. That's were I agree with the south american tribe...

But this dream business is about the contruction of your present....moment.

Some people are more interested about the "before and after" linear timeline schedule..

You've reminded me of another dream I had about my father. It was very creepy, and interesting.

My father came to visit and stay with me at my house. It was night time and he was laying in bed. I smiled and said goodnight to him and closed the door to my guest room. He looked as he always does before he goes to bed, relaxed and in his boxer shorts. I walked into my living room and sat down on the couch thinking about going to bed soon myself. Suddenly my father appeared swaggering down the hall fully dressed in black and even had on a black hat. Now I've seen my father this way in waking life, but in my dream I wondered how did he get dressed so fast and what was he doing. I looked into his eyes and there was something very wrong. In my dream I said flat out and very loudly while pointing... You are not my father! The moment I did this the body of my father morphed into this gangley man shaped shadow and ran out the front door. I chased after it and I had a large plastic garbage bag in my hands. I tackled this thing on the lawn swooping it up into the bag...then I woke up.

The psychic strength you speak of...I think of it like a physical strength as well. I mean in the sense that if you don't use a muscle then it begins to weaken and atrophy. So the psychic "muscle" needs exercise as well to maintain its "strength".

I still am in the land of denial...I don't think I'm ready to acknowledge any of it..."good" or "bad". I have this feeling that when I'm ready it will be like opening a flood gate...I don't feel prepared for that in this moment.
