Norway’s foreign minister has announced that the country will be among the first to recognise a Palestinian state if negotiations with Israel fail to make headway by September. A nine-month deadline has been set by the Palestinians for proclaiming independence, which would also coincide with the completion of Prime Minister Salam Fayyad’s two-year effort to set up the basic institutions of a state.

Speaking in Ramallah, Norwegian foreign minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said Oslo is striving to help with the development of the Palestinian economy but still believes that the political process towards peace could be a success.

During the second day of Labour Youth League summer camp at Utøya got the Labour Party's young hopefuls visit by Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

Together with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation correspondent Sidsel Wold and Norwegian People's Aid Kirsten Belck-Olsen, discussed the Foreign Minister of the deadlock between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

As foreign minister arrived Utøya he was met with a demand from the AUF that Norway must recognize a Palestinian state.

- The Palestinians must have their own state, the occupation must end, the wall must be demolished and it must happen now, said the Foreign Minister to cheers from the audience.

Norwegian killer posted manifesto, video before attacks

Norwegian police are verifying if twin attack suspect Anders Behring Breivik was the author of a manifesto and a video which appeared on the web, Norwegian media said. The 32-year old ethnic Norwegian on Saturday confessed to killing over 80 people on the Utoya Island Saturday evening.
Breivik is also believed to have been one of those linked to the Oslo bombing, which left seven people dead.

"We confirm that some information appeared on the web," Einar Aas, the head of organised crime department of Oslo Police, told Norway's TV2 channel.

"We are studying it now."

The document, headlined "A European Declaration of Independence", is written by Andrew Berwick, but the author says in the text this is an anglicised version of Anders Breivik.

In the 1,500-page document the author expresses his extreme anti-Muslim political views and describes the attacks which are to be carried out.

It describes how to make bombs from fertilisers and how to receive them in large quantities by setting up an agricultural company.

The author says he emailed it to thousands of people, mostly his "patriotic Facebook friends" and their friends. He says it took him nine years to write the manifesto, reflecting his background and political views.

The manifesto also contains previously unknown Breivik's pictures.

A person who identified himself as Andrew Berwick also uploaded a video on YouTube calling calls for conservatives to "embrace martyrdom", six hours before the bomb in the centre of Oslo went off.

The 12-minute video, called "Knights Templar 2083", also reportedly appeared on Breivik's now-closed Facebook page.

Breivik hated "cultural marxists," wanted a "crusade" against the spread of Islam and liked guns and weightlifting, web postings, acquaintances and officials said.

A video posted to the YouTube website showed several pictures of Breivik, including one of him in a Navy Seal type scuba diving outfit pointing an automatic weapon.

"Before we can start our crusade we must do our duty by decimating cultural marxism," said a caption under the video called "Knights Templar 2083" on the YouTube website, which took down the video on Saturday.

A Norwegian website provided a link to a 1,500 page electronic manifesto which says Breivik was the author. It was not possible to verify who posted the video or wrote the book.

"Once you decide to strike, it is better to kill too many than not enough, or you risk reducing the desired ideological impact of the strike," the book said.

Norway has traditionally been open to immigration, which has been criticized by the Progress Party, of which Breivik was for a short time a member. The Labour Party, whose youth camp Breivik attacked, has long been in favor of immigration.

The following is a timeline of events during the attacks on a Norwegian government building and a political retreat for young people, according to police and eyewitnesses. All times are local.

Breivik is reported to have written many posts on the website document.no,[24] described by Aftenposten as "Islam-critical and Israel-friendly".[25] He also attended meetings of "Documents venner" (Friends of Document), affiliated with the website.[26] Dagens Næringsliv writes that Breivik sought to start a Norwegian version of the Tea Party movement in cooperation with the owners of document.no, but that they, after expressing initial interest, ultimately turned down his proposal because he did not have the contacts he promised.[27] Due to the media attention on his Internet activity following the 2011 attacks, document.no compiled a complete list of comments made by Breivik on its website between September 2009 and June 2010.[28][29][30]

Breivik wrote that it was essential to "fight" for a "Judeo-Christian Europe", praised the rejection of "anti-Jewish views" and stated that "the new Conservatist ‘new right’ is rapidly developing into a pro-Israel, anti-Jihad alliance."[31] He applauds Israel, and considers Israel to be a victim of alleged "cultural Marxists" who "see Israel as a 'racist' state".[32]

Breivik penned a 1,500-page manifesto titled 2083 — A European Declaration of Independence, under the pseudonym "Andrew Berwick", published in 2011. In the document he describes his background and discusses his political viewpoints.[33][34][35] "Berwick" details his preparation for the attacks including but not limited to; the preparation of ANFO, methods of acquisition of chemical precursors, and his mental state in the days leading up to the attacks. In the preface he says he devoted nine years of his life to writing the book, working full time during the last three.[3]

Six hours before the attacks, Breivik posted a YouTube video urging conservatives to "embrace martyrdom" and showing himself wearing a wetsuit and pointing a Ruger Mini 14.
