Re: What is BitCoins?
Schiff said it all when he stated...bitcoins need to be backed by something tangible, not necessarily gold, and also contractual agreements established by vendors for goods and services that bitcoins will ALWAYS be redeemable.

Re: What is BitCoins?
Bitcoin is a purely digital money tool ... just as todays gov controlled "credit-money-system" .. it's an item for speculation, it's advantage is that it is NOT gov controlled...and as decentralized as could be...and unlike swiss accounts, impossible to track as easily as NSA in the Pentagon would like it....but it only works as long as the internet is....hehe. Now I would not bet on it..I mean if government really NEEDS the current internet. See they got "the Grid" at Cern..which they call:
The Internet Of The Future...
which means internet access as "privilage" for deserving classes...
There is almost a media blackout on this "GRID" which will be competed and then starts running this summer...

re: Bitcoin is completely compromised and is banned from use in Japan
When Bitcoin was first introduced I jumped on the band wagon and signed up for
an account registering with the required information.
That was as far as my interest went...
...my decision was correct. I was watching one guy on a television broadcast saying
he had lost US$248,000 with Bitcoin.
