Controversial donations

Speaking of Trekkies, you can really tell a lot about someone by knowing their favorite Star Trek characters.

I have two favorite characters, Data and Q.



Data is immune to nearly all biological diseases and other weaknesses that can affect humans and other carbon based lifeforms. This benefits the Enterprise many times, such as when Data is the only crewmember unaffected by the inability to dream and the only member to be unaffected by the stun ray that knocked the crew out for a day. One exception however was in the episode "The Naked Now" where Data was also a victim of the Tsiolkovsky polywater virus. Data does not require life support to function and does not register a bio-signature, in which case the Enterprise-D crew usually have to modify their scanners to detect positronic signals in order to locate and keep track of him on away-missions.

Data however is vulnerable to technological hazards such as computer viruses, certain levels of energy discharges, ship malfunctions (when connected to the Enterprise main computer for experiments), remote control shutdown devices, or possession through technological means ranging from Ira Graves' transfer of consciousness into his neural net to an alien archeological probe that placed several different personalities into him. Other aspects that separate Data from most humanoid life forms is the fact that he cannot swim unless aided by his built in flotation device, yet he is waterproof and can perform tasks underwater without the need to surface. Data is also impervious to sensory tactile emotion such as pain or pleasure. In Star Trek: First Contact the Borg Queen grafted artificial skin cells to him, and he was able to feel the pain of another Borg drone cutting his arm. (The Borg Queen later shows him an example of "pleasure" with his new skin cells.) Despite being mechanical in nature, Data is treated as an equal member of the mostly carbon based lifeform crew. However, being a mechanical construct, technicians such as Chief Engineer Geordi LaForge prove to be more appropriate to treat his mechanical or cognitive function failures. His positronic brain becomes deactivated, and then repaired and reactivated by Geordi on several occasions.

Data is physically the strongest, and information/calculation-wise, the most intelligent member of the Enterprise crew. He is able to survive in atmospheres which most carbon based life forms would consider inhospitable, as well as in the lack of an atmosphere in the vacuum of space. However, as an android, he is the most emotionally challenged, and with the addition of Dr. Soong's emotions chip, the most emotionally unstable member of the crew. Before the emotions chip, Data was unable to grasp basic emotion and imagination, leading him to download personality subroutines into his programming when participating in holographic recreational activities (most notably during Dixon Hill and Sherlock Holmes holoprograms) and during romantic encounters (most notably with Tasha Yar and Jenna D'Sora). Yet none of those personalities are his own and are immediately put away at the conclusion of their usefulness in that given situation.

Q is a mischievous, threatening, omnipotent being who has taken an interest in humans. Q's power is limited only in that he cannot overcome others in his home universe, the Q Continuum. He can stop death, create life, travel through time, stop time, and create entire worlds effortlessly. He can change a person's mind or make them take any action.

Q's mercurial personality switches between camp joking and deadly threats. While boastful, condescending, and threatening, he arguably has humans' best interests at heart, as seen in the series finale, "All Good Things...", in which he causes Jean-Luc Picard to shift through chronological periods, giving him a chance to save humanity. In his portrayal of Q, John de Lancie used Lady Caroline Lamb's description of Lord Byron as "mad, bad and dangerous to know" as his inspiration.[2]

Star Trek II was, in my opinion, the best movie of the series.

Spock was a bad motherfucker, he was always my favorite character. I gotta give some props to Data though, he did do a good job of playing that similar role.



I agree with you QSC, about Star Trek II being the best movie in the series, I'll never forget seeing that at the movie theater when I was a kid, especially that part where those slimy worm things were inserted into peoples' ears!

It's only obvious how the disinformers work. If other forums that attack mtsars forum know of this forum, which they do obviously, but don't care to come here to discuss, but not even want to post here at all tells me something.
Which is strange they would rather for their own motive want to attack mtsar and his work only and are aiming and targeting to get his forum down.

I thought mtsar would get away from the forum if not he's going to have to have some stricter standards for his forum because of the slim shadys. And then people get all upset because of the changes or putting up boundaries, maybe it's the disinformers are feigning their moaning again, just to make matters worse.
Well that's too bad for them. DECIEVING AND MANIPULATING LIARS need to stop being losers.

So many risks in life to take, if it's not too harmful to the person, mentally or physically or spiritually, I guess one can take them. Seems one has to be a martyr of some kind these days. Don't want to let the EVIL get a stronghold though, so in a way it's good mtsar continues the good battle.

But it's good also just to work on oneself, that's what I would do, don't know if I would take those risks the researchers are taking. I know it sounds selfish, but got to take care of oneself too.

One thing I gotta say about MTSAR, he's a really good web designer. I remember him saying in an interview somewhere that he pretty much taught himself how to make websites via photoshop.

The website that quicksilver linked with the tshirts is quite nicely set out, and the colours and pics used in the products are postively stimulating ...... to me

But mtsars new forum layout is more a work in progress i would say

I cant imagine the same person was responsible for both of these site designs .......but that just my personal opinion

Tsarion informed me that he uses photoshop and a previous version of Dreamweaver and does all the designing for his website.

True talent in this regards. I think he has some of the best websites on the net from what I have seen.
