The unidentified 54-year-old woman gave police a detailed account of her claims that Mr Gore groped and kissed her in an aggressive attempt to have sex during a night-time appointment in his suite.

However, the police concluded that there was insufficient evidence to press charges.

The woman, who recalled telling Mr Gore he was behaving like a "crazed sex poodle", claims he pinned her to his bed and forcibly French kissed her.

The former Vice President, 62, and his wife, 61, are separating, they announced Tuesday. The couple, who have four children, have been married for 40 years.

The Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration," according to an e-mailed statement obtained by The Associated Press Tuesday.

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the couple, but declined further comment.

Tipper often played a pivotal role in her husband's career. While campaigning, Gore relied on his wife as one of his key campaign advisers, "helping to soften her husband's stiff image at public appearances," the Washington Post reported.

Aides also credited Tipper for being able to bring out a more animated side of her husband than he normally showed on the campaign trail, at one time even famously exchanging a long kiss with her husband on stage at the 2000 Democratic National Convention.

"[Tipper] brings excitement to my life that wouldn't be there otherwise," Gore told the New York Times in between campaign stops in 2000. "She sees things I don’t see, understands things I don’t understand. I've learned so much from her."

"She's the person he trusts more than anybody," added Gore's former speechwriter Eli Attie.

That trust helped the couple weather Tipper's battle with depression and their son's run-ins with the law and drug and alcohol problems.

The couple, who have resided in his home state of Tennessee after he worked in Washington, D.C., recently purchased a $8.8 million home in Montecito, Calif., Los Angeles Times reported, a few days before their 40th wedding anniversary.

This "Team Stupid" is extremely easy to identify. They don't like people who aren't like them. They don't like people who think differently than them. They truly believe "God hates Fags and The Gay can be Prayed Away." We are dealing after all, with an anti intellectual philosophical class of people, driven by meta magical thinking, and mentally insane people who hide underneath terms like "priest" or "pastor."

And they certainly don't like people who interpret the bible differently than them. Simply put, they only like themselves, in this twisted, socially engineered, self identity.

Personally, I don't believe this movement will ever take much power in this country simply because of their inherent ignorance, due to the inability to think logically. Plus these people are no match for the technology that will probably replace them any way.

Being conservatively minded, and praying for things to exist in the past (conservatism, think Vatican here), sets them up for eminent doom by the technocratic (forward thinking) elite who will ultimately destroy them, and probably usher in a new religion for fools.

Where the potential of power exists with the Right Wing Christian movement is the fact that they are easily turned to pawns by the politicians who simply use them as a political resource, to ensure their own power. After all, most of the U.S. is Christian based, and political propagandists have always known about this cash cow.

It's almost as if, Christianity is nothing BUT a political party, outside of its kooky superstitions, and this could be said for all of the world's major religions.

at the church near my place. its mostly elderly people and when i went on mothers day to just pay my respects to my adopted mother, everybody was just polite and warm and friendly...not crazy...

my biological mothers side is the evangelical kind and they speak in tongues and i think its scary. the TV pastors do this sort of thing and they are masons/satanists. i just think there has to be something very bad about expressing yourself in a silly/crazy way without any shame in how silly you look and believing the holy spirit is giving you the confidence to act so foolish.
