Hello Seraphim, I think the past kind of molds us into what we become today, yes. Personally, being forced to go to Church and being an altar boy, violated my free will, but that doesn't matter when your family are religious freaks. The deal with Catholicism is that they baptize you when you are an infant, while protestant denominations are baptized as adults. The reason they do this is because they believe that they are "publicly proclaiming their faith in Christ". Protestants believe Catholics are doing it wrong, because babies are uh not yet smart enough to know whether they want to put the Christian fish symbol on their cars yet.

I think with all Christian denominations, they grow adults who buy into the "I'm not worthy" creed. This of course makes for a perfect environment for people to live out unhealthy lives, and then project those unhealthy attitudes on others. Personally, I see Christianity at least in the West, coming to a complete and utter end, but I doubt the Vatican will ever die out.

I've figured that out by now, and have let the past rest. The difficult part was, I never believed in god/God/gods/Jesus/Satan at any point of my childhood. The result of course, sent me straight into atheism, which I am not to this day. But spiritual matters are best resolved through direct experience of what works and what doesn't. I'm just happy that I never followed my Grandmother's dream for my life and became "a priest." (side note: a family friend is a priest who has complete text book obsessive compulsive disorder. Watch the way a priest washes his hands during a mass.)

Anyone else see the vicious cycle of ex Christians who immediately become atheists? Didn't Albert Pike write about that in one of his books? Something about Christianity and Atheism ultimately destroying one another? I don't know remember exactly what he was going on about, but it probably worked.

Folks go along thinking everything is alright but it's not. The perpetuation of the blinded species goes on, wasn't trying to be scientific but how else to explain the human race.

Yeah, I was lucky my folks weren't religious but my grandparents were Catholic and told me I would go to hell if I wasn't baptized, that worried me when I was a kid, gosh the things kids have to go through. But I found out that is a lie, and that this is hell already.
Then I stopped believing in the God in the bible, and one who doesn't know any better would call that being an athiest. But I never was an athiest either. I always believed in the Gods within and the Gods without.

My father and uncle went to Catholic school and all throughout their were some priests who molested the boys and the nuns beat them.

My earliest doubts in religion caused me to cast aside all consideration of deity.

Deity is resultant from the intrusion of anthropomorphic gods into nature-based belief systems dating back to the Sumerians following the intrusion of Semitic tribes.

My belief is that there is an non-physical reality. And this was best expressed through vitalism. It's interface with physical reality was expressed in animism.

Beyond these two considerations of vitalism and animism I cannot extend myself to suggest or believe the existence of deities with human-like qualities as gods which replaced nature's observable and experiential "forces". Space aliens would have a better probability of existing than amorphous nebulous entities existing and influencing man from the domains of the netherworld.

And this is why I personally investigate the non-deistic information coming from the Hindu/Indian Yogic schools and the Taoist schools of thought as related to vitalism. Philosophy, reason, the study and development of the self rounding out what I would roughly characterize as..."my religion". You are not asked to believe, or to join, and I don't need you loyalty, worship or money. There are no mandates or holy wars to fight. Many probably just can't deal with that kind of...peace.

My discounting of anthropomorphic gods does not necessarily mean that I do not consider the possibility of ancestral spirits and non-physical thought forms or entities from a shamanic or Native American perspective. And it is not that they would not have human-like qualities, it would be the positioning them as gods over the universe, creation and humanity that I would greatly distance myself.

That is interesting you brought up JFK today, because I was just reading a chapter toward the end of The SS Brotherhood of the Bell, Joseph Farrell, that went into the mysteries of the assassination, including Nazi ties.

Kapis, ever hear of 'geocaching', using the iPhone, players can plan
trips or just go out 'caching' for locations where players have left for
example a notebook to sign in saying TFTC (thanks for the cache).
Although its been around for awhile, at least since gps became
available, these people have taken it to a level bordering on neurotic.

Noticed too they have 'geocache podcasts', listening to them is
amazing, the seriousness and the concentration, they even have
developed a lexicon of terms, like the one I mentioned TFTC, you'll
see this written in the tracking website and notes left in the caches.

A friend of mine who is a semi-geek, he still has a partial brain left,
went out and located a cache close to his home, found it in the crux
of a large tree, it was a small plastic tupperware with a small note
pad, little toys, a Japanese towel and a 'professional cachers' coin
dated December 26, 2006. The coin has been in circulation since 2006
and this friend took it home with him last night, went to the site and
registered it using the special code embossed on the coin. He plans on
leaving it at a cache he will go try to locate tonight which could be on
the other aide of town.

When you track the coin in three years it might end up in Istanbul or
New York, who knows.

What I want to know is, how come nobody is bringing to the forefront the question: "Is the Vatican even necessary"? That is the question that I feel should be being asked.

Obviously, if there were no more Vatican, there would be no more priests fucking kids!! But nope, instead we get more politics. These psychopaths have such a strong grip on our reality that it just boggles the mind.

I can't think of one sane reason why the Vatican is still relevant, and should continue to exist. Makes no sense what-so-ever.
