What is this flaggy thing representative of? Anyone have any insights?

This crest reeks of evil intent. I want to figure out the significance of
the vertical emblem – that flaggy thing – on the phoenix's breast....

TG - I am guessing that the lion is The Lion of Judah.

I think the symbol in the center of the cross is the fleur de lys.

The fleur de lys is associated with:

1. The French monarchy.
2. Areas of the world that were once under French monarchic rule, such as Louisiana.
3. Boy scouting.
4. It also a military insignia.
5. It is spelled Fleur de Lis which means flower of life. And, yes, the N.O.Saints
use it because it represents New Orleans.

I'm not sure what you meant by

I see a lion, probably the Lion of Judah.

The cross, itself, kind of looks like a weird version of a templar cross. But I really don't know.



Too bad we can't e-mail Winston S. Churchill, and ask him.

In Croatia this symbol is one of the most common one, you find it on our buildings from the Venetian epoch.

We have nicely kept Templar Churches depicting the "Venetian Dog" as well.
