Good calls, Blackbird, Kap. First thing that came to my mind: Pantera. Very influential band back in the day, Phil Anselmo is still a bad motherfucker, in my opinion.

Kap - The Cure are another band that brings up a lot of feelings in me. I had the pleasure of seeing them live in Chicago on their Blood Flowers tour in the late 90's.

Here I will share a band that is simply best described as New York. Life of Agony, from Brooklyn, New York had something that a lot of other NY area punk/metal/hardcore bands didn't have, a singer who could actually really fucking sing. This song is one of their softer numbers:

Their singer was an odd duck, but he had one hell of an original voice, whether you liked it or didn't like it. Brings back a lot of good memories.

Music is so intrinsic. I think when I was finally born, I hit the floor swaying and dancing to the rythums. Something happened though, throughout the journey... something was either lost or stolen...could be both. Music is one of those things that can't be taken, and I think this is partially why I am so fond.

Anytime I think about how "a culling of the herd" could be some kind of a solution, or when I see with my new found clarities along with all of the varied disparities, or even when a corporate jingle is freakin stuck in my head...I think of this song. It just reminds me to feel, not that I am hardly in need of such a reminder, still though... this song is a good feeling. Plus, its a new song to me, and I enjoy that very much. So thank you all for the tunes you guys post...I can dig it Cool

I think nourishing the soul is much more than just images. I mean more than just images received from the ocular (eyes). They say blind men dream, well of course they do. But blind from birth; the senses of hearing and smell or touch is the substance of their dreams...hmmm?

I appreciated listening to that Nirvana song again, Blackbird. It's been a long time. I admit openly that Nirvana were a favored band of mine back in the "grunge days". Kurt Cobain was a unique guy for sure. It's a tragedy what fame can do to people.

Yes, ma'am. Another Meat Puppets song Nirvana covered, as I'm sure you're already aware was "Oh Me".

Nirvana, specifically Kurt was influenced by many bands that I highly love, Melvins being one of them...

I could listen to this Melvins song all day long. The heaviness and rage are incalculable. In fact, Kurt started out as a roadie for the Melvins, and tried out for bass, even though they denied him...
