I thought why not start an Anger thread. I can kind of sense some of us have been ... on the angry side as of late. Personally, I feel that anger is as healthy as a nice basket of fresh fruit. It's the anger that is buried inside of me, subconsciously that I find so difficult releasing, or even identifying its source. Some nights when I lay in bed, wondering what it is that is keeping me from falling asleep, and I can usually identify the problem being anger related.

That is the anger I find most difficult to deal with. Sometimes I feel like the whole world is like a rubber band that's about ready to snap. I think I've also come to the conclusion that depression is simply anger that hasn't been dealt with or expunged in some form or another.

What do the members of the forum have to say about Anger?

You are being honest with yourself huh..........I bet some of your anger has to do with the goings on out there, as well as your birthchart and maybe past lives and of course this life. You'll have to go into a past life regression, not really. : )But it's great that you can see that and change your perspective about the anger.

I'm behind here, but you spoke of an apopilyctic dream you had. Evil lurks everywhere, just could be getting to you. Things from your waking life get carried on into the dream state. Maybe you transferred some images or situations. You know dreams will always tell you something.

You are right about that, Seraphim! If my mind is already in a dark place, sleep will not come with peace. I am very grateful for the good dreams that I do have, as rare as they are in reality. Thanks for your input on that, by the way.

There you go, Blackbird! That is some good self awareness right there. I've forced myself to really take a deeper look at how much of my time I spend in anger, because I've noticed that over the years its gotten more extreme. Cliff notes version: angry at myself, angry at the word, and every thing in between.

I've often wondered why I know so many people who appear so relatively calm most of the time, though that may be due to my own perception of them. It's safe to say, that I am on "the other side of the spectrum" when it comes to such anger.

After some long and serious contemplation of what it is that drives me to exercise, I've found out that that answer was very simple: anger.

In my youth I never learned healthy coping skills to deal with it, but later as an adult, I've learned to channel that anger into a discipline. I'm proud of myself that I have made such a discovery, because it isn't one that I share with the people in my life. Another bump in the road, along the lonely path...

Thank you for your kind response Flames...I think I can relate, I remember when I was very young before the age of about five; my older sister enjoyed upsetting me just to see my reaction. I had a very unusual anger trigger that she seemed to be fully entertained by. I would stomp around in my little body with gritted teeth and breath as ferociously as I could. I didn't have the best example of effectively dealing with anger when I was young either, so I had to create a good method for myself...I am glad I had this realization and I am also glad to know that my anger is not my enemy.

A good many people don't realize they are even enchained. I didn't until I began to look deeper into things about three years ago. I think in the back of my mind there has always been an awareness that things were not the way they seemed or the way I was told they were. Because I chose to explore that feeling is why I was able to move forward and like it has been said " When the student is ready, the teacher will come".

I couldn't help but notice the poet's Portiguey eyes and skin. They (at least the one's who have kept certain DNA traits, meaning not too much outbreeding, LOL) have very white, flawless, wrinklefree skin like the Asians.

TG, you just posted my all time favorite video clip EVER, sir. I wrote a whole article about this video clip a long time ago. The whole episode just brings me so much peace and satisfaction. The way this man goes completely fucking bananas is something to behold, so fluid, so graceful, so uncaring.

On the other hand, nobody reacts to this guy destroying
property except for the guy who comes out of the office;
is he the 'manager' and therefore 'obligated' to act?

The psychology. This is the exact thing I've been trying to pin point, too. God only knows what events transpired in this man's life, and the life of his co workers, before the meltdown.

Could he have known that this would be the outcome when he woke up that morning, to go to work? Had he planned this out days before? Was he aware that the potential existed within him to do such a thing? This is the very definition of a person who 'snaps'.

By just observing the scene at hand, it seems that that particular office set up, with its cubicle set up, and low quality personal space, could create stress, not just in the man insane, but perhaps everyone working there.

The constant ringing of telephones, the same greetings to the calls, the sound of the fax machine, and printer, on the minute, year after year, could destabalize anyone. It totally reminds me of the movie Office Space.

It's tough to judge who is the boss, or what sort of corporate hierarchy is going on. Judging by the two security cameras, it didn't take long for the police to show up and taze this man. It is shocking that many of the people just stood there, watching everything unfold.

I really like that office freak out video as well. I've worked a little in that type of cubicle setting. I abhorred the constant data entry and office politics as it was soul sucking. I had an occasion to daydream about smashing somethings.
I once got fired for running my mouth at a job in a veterinarian clinic. I thought it would be a good fit for me because I've always had an affinity for animals. Within the first week my fantasy as vet tech was completely obliterated. This was not a place that practiced caring for animals. The good doctor was a nut job who loved ordering unnecessary procedures and the other two ladies were wicked mean to the underlings. One day while cleaning food bowls I overheard the second in command berating this assistant who was trying to balance out the scale. The girl was only about sixteen and asked for some instruction. The second in command snidely belittled the assistants incompetence and told her to use a bag of food that had the weight listed. The older lady just kept going on and on and I couldn't take it anymore. So I suggested that we use her fat head instead to balance to scale. That was it for me...I still derive a small amount of satisfaction for saying what I did even though it didn't equate to job security.

I remember as a child being told I could be whatever I wanted to be when I grew up. I think many are told this only to find out what that really means...you can be whatever you want to be as long as you conform to the society, jump through all the flaming hoops, pucker up to kiss any and all rear ends and be willing to step on any in the way. You go to school to get a job to pay for more school so you can get a pretentious piece of paper that officiates you "know something" so you can get a "better job" that pays more. The reason you need a better job is so you can have more money to buy more things and this is the societies measure of success. In this realization of how it (it being societal dictates on what "success" is) actually works then its a "go figure" why some people eventually snap.
