That was awesome! Thanks for posting that, Seraphim. Right up my ally. That is so punk rock, without the electricity. There is definitely something unexplainable and maddening about these drum circles. I really wished I had some friends like that to hang around, rather than my alcoholic sport fan friends. Hell I even have a drum set, though I can't play it where I live without the cops tearing down my door.
This is the kind of healthy psychic release people really need. A return to primordial emotions that we've most likely forgotten. Notice how tribal drumming is probably the most ancient music in the universe, yet it has never been mainstream. What tribal drumming comes down to is, really a sort of sonic arithmetic. Simple repetitive beats. It's cool to see the expressions from the various people in that circle. One can definitely detect a sense of rage in the music itself. I'm all for that.
I imagine most modern people write it all off as savagery. This is obviously sad, because it seems modern people don't understand a damn thing about tribal communities, myself included. Maybe it's high time we learn, because when an inevitable catastrohe does happen to us, we will be those "savages" with sticks...beating on deer skins.
