I always like him. His looks, music and projected image or lifestyle made him an archetype of the seventies in the U.S.
The down-home Colorado man. This was the image I emulated most as a kid. Being in the woods, hiking, canoes, shooting, and trying to recapture the wisdom of the Native Americans. Being environmentally conscious.
Musician Dan Folgelberg was similar in this respect. As were the Eagles.
During this time Colorado became the Mecca of being "natural".
And was quite doable if you made millions and had enough coke to last you the winter.
Most of it was an illusion or movement behind the veil of commercialism and being a fad.
Consumerism and the yuppie lifestyle won out, thus blending us into the eighties.
